Who Saily suits

Saily suits travellers who want prepaid mobile data for Europe, the USA or worldwide, with no contract. Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN, makes it. Plans run from small packs to unlimited data, for light and heavy users alike.

You pay once for the data and the days. There is no monthly bill to worry about. Pick the region and data size that match your trip in our table.

Most travel eSIMs are data only, with no phone number of their own. Keep your UK SIM switched on for calls and texts. WhatsApp, FaceTime and other internet calling apps still work on a data-only eSIM. Going to Europe? Read our eSIM for Europe guide first.

Plans and prices

Saily sells travel eSIMs for Europe, the USA and worldwide, from small data packs to unlimited data. Our table ranks Saily plans by price, cheapest first. Look at the top row for the cheapest option.

Each price is read from Saily's own website. The table shows the date it was last checked.

To compare value, divide the price by the GB you get. This gives the price per GB. A lower figure means better value. If two plans cost the same, the one with more data ranks higher, then the one with longer validity.

To set Saily against rivals, check Airalo, Nomad and Yesim in the same table.

How to set up Saily

  1. Check that your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked. iPhones from the XS and XR (2018) onward support eSIM, as do recent Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones.
  2. Buy a Saily plan in its app. Saily plans are prepaid, so you pay once for the data and the days.
  3. Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi. You add it by scanning a QR code or tapping install in the app, so nothing is posted to you.
  4. Keep your UK SIM on for calls and texts, then set the Saily eSIM as your mobile data line. Turn off data roaming on your UK SIM so your network cannot charge roaming fees.

Your plan's days usually start when it first connects to a network at your destination.
