What full fibre gets you
Full fibre means a fibre cable runs all the way into your home. It is also called FTTP.
Part-fibre broadband, also called FTTC, is different. It uses fibre only to the street cabinet, then copper wires for the last stretch. Part-fibre is slower, and its speed falls the further you live from the cabinet.
Every deal table shows advertised speeds and the date its prices were last checked. Your real speed depends on your address, your router and your Wi-Fi, so treat advertised speeds as a guide.

Openreach or an independent network?
Most providers, including BT, Sky, Plusnet, TalkTalk, EE and NOW, sell broadband over the Openreach network. Other providers run their own networks, such as CityFibre, Community Fibre, Hyperoptic, YouFibre and Virgin Media. Both kinds can sell full fibre, so compare across them.
Which network a provider uses matters because each one builds its fibre in different areas. Check your own address before you choose. Look for the postcode check on the provider's website, and compare the deals in the tables below.
Every table on this page shows the date its prices were last checked, so you know how current the prices are.
Which full fibre speed to pick
Pick the full fibre speed your home needs, not the biggest number on the page. Our broadband speed calculator helps you find it.
Speeds in our tables are the speeds providers advertise. The speed you get depends on your address, your router and your Wi-Fi.
Once you know the speed you need, sort the table by real cost. Real cost counts every stated price rise and any setup fee, spread across the contract. Cheapest comes first, and faster broadband goes first when two deals cost the same.
Straight answers
Questions people ask
- Is full fibre worth it?
- Full fibre runs a fibre cable all the way into your home, so it avoids the copper stretch that slows other connections. Part-fibre (FTTC) uses copper for the last stretch. So it is slower, and its speed falls with distance. Compare the full fibre deals in our table, which ranks them by real cost, cheapest first.
- How do I know if I can get full fibre?
- Enter your postcode on a provider's website to see if full fibre reaches your address. Most providers sell it over the Openreach network. CityFibre, Hyperoptic and Virgin Media run their own networks, so check those too.
- Do I need a new router for full fibre?
- Your router is part of the speed you get, so check it alongside your deal. Your actual speed depends on your address, your router and your Wi-Fi. Speeds in our tables are advertised speeds, so your own speed may be different.
