Who no-contract broadband suits
No-contract broadband suits people who may move home soon. It fits renters, students and anyone with an uncertain stay.
Renters may not know how long they will stay in one place. A rolling plan means you are not tied to a fixed contract. Students and people with a move date coming up can use the same freedom to leave when they need to.
The trade-off is cost. Expect a possible higher monthly price and sometimes a setup fee. Check both on each deal before you choose, so you know what you will pay each month.

How we compare short contracts
We total every rolling plan over 12 months, so each deal is compared over the same period. Real cost is everything you pay over those 12 months. That includes each monthly price, every stated price rise and any setup or delivery fee. We take off the cash value of any reward card, then divide by 12.
We rank deals by real cost, cheapest first. If two deals cost the same, the faster broadband or bigger data allowance goes first. 12-month deals appear in the same table, so you can compare them with rolling plans side by side.
Check the date each table shows for its last price check. Then sort by real cost and choose the deal that suits how long you plan to stay.
Get the best rolling deal
Check the setup fee, router and notice period before you pick a rolling deal.
A one-off setup fee adds to what you pay, so a low monthly price can still cost more. Our tables already count any setup or delivery fee, so the top row is the best value in our table today.
Before you sign, ask the provider what happens to your router when you leave. Then ask how much notice you need to give. Write both answers down so you can compare providers fairly.
Speeds in our tables are the providers' advertised figures. Your address, router and Wi-Fi decide the speed you actually get at home.

Questions people ask
- Can you get broadband without a contract?
- Check the live table on this page to see which deals have no fixed term. Contracts agreed online or by phone come with a 14-day cooling-off period, during which you can cancel. Your provider must also tell you 10 to 40 days before your contract ends.
- Is no-contract broadband more expensive?
- Not necessarily. The monthly price alone does not show the full cost, so check the real cost in our tables. Our tables rank deals by real cost, cheapest first, so the best value sits at the top. Each table shows the date its prices were last checked.
- How much notice do I give on rolling broadband?
- We do not list a notice period for rolling broadband, so check it on the provider's own site before you sign. For fixed contracts, your provider must tell you 10 to 40 days before the contract ends. It must also show you its best deals at that point.
