The price cap is £1,723 a year until 31 December 2026
That is Ofgem's figure for a typical home paying by Direct Debit, up from £1,663 last quarter. The cap limits the rate per unit and the daily standing charge, not your total bill: use more and you pay more.

- Yes. You never pay us anything. Some providers pay us a fee when you switch through our link, and that fee never changes where a deal sits in our tables.
- How often are the prices checked?
- Every day. Our checker opens each provider's own deal page and confirms the price is still there. If a price changes or a deal ends, the table changes with it.
- What does real cost mean?
- It is the total you pay over the contract, divided by the months: the monthly price, every price rise the provider has stated, and any setup fee, minus the cash value of a reward card.
- Why is my price different from the table?
- Broadband speeds and some prices depend on your address. The provider confirms your exact price when you enter your postcode on its site.
