Questions people ask
- Is Nomad good value?
- Nomad can be good value for a trip to Europe, the USA or worldwide, so check its price per GB in our table. You pay once for the data and days, with no contract and no monthly bill. Most travel eSIMs are data only, so keep your UK SIM on for calls and texts.
- Does my phone need to be unlocked for Nomad?
- Yes. Your phone must be unlocked and support eSIM to use a Nomad eSIM. iPhones from the iPhone XS and XR (2018) onward support eSIM, as do recent Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones. A locked phone will not work with a Nomad eSIM, so check before you buy.
- When do Nomad plans start?
- Nomad plan days usually start when your eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, not when you buy it. Install the plan at home on Wi-Fi before you go, so it is ready when you land. That way, your days are not used up before your trip begins.
