Who Your Co-op Energy suits
Your Co-op Energy suits people who want a Co-op supplier with flexible or fixed tariffs to choose from. It is run with Octopus Energy and also offers Community Power tariffs.
If you might move or switch soon, look at the Flexible tariff. It has no exit fee. A fixed tariff suits people who want their rates held for 12 or 18 months. Leaving early costs £50 per fuel on a 12-month fix, or £75 per fuel on an 18-month fix. Compare fixed and variable tariffs before you pick.
In our check, Co-op and Octopus tariffs of the same type and length showed the same rates. So the choice comes down to deal length, exit fees and whether the Co-op name matters to you. Every tariff shows a £20 sign-up reward.
Tariffs and exit fees
Your Co-op Energy's Flexible tariff has no exit fee, but its 12-month and 18-month fixes do. A fixed tariff holds your unit rates and standing charges for the length of the deal, usually 12 to 24 months. Leave early and you pay £50 per fuel on a 12-month fix, or £75 per fuel on an 18-month fix.
A standing charge is a fixed daily amount for each fuel, paid even on days you use no energy. If you take both gas and electricity, you pay the exit fee twice: £100 on a 12-month fix or £150 on an 18-month fix.
Every Your Co-op Energy tariff comes with a £20 sign-up reward. Weigh that against any exit fee before you pick a fix. Not sure which suits you? Read fixed vs variable first.
