Who Vodafone broadband suits

Vodafone broadband suits people who want no landline, flexible terms and a simple setup at home.

Our table lists six packages, with advertised speeds from 50Mb to 2200Mb. Contracts run for 1, 12 or 24 months. The rolling monthly plan has no long contract at all.

Vodafone broadband comes without a landline, so it suits homes that no longer need one. You can still add a landline if you want one. You set up the router yourself, so no engineer needs to visit.

Households on qualifying benefits can also ask about Vodafone's social tariff. It is a cheaper plan for people on benefits such as Universal Credit or Pension Credit.

If full fibre does not reach your address, check whether you are in Vodafone 5G coverage. Speed then depends on the signal where you live, so compare cheapest broadband deals before you decide.

Network, speeds and availability

Vodafone sells broadband on full fibre and 5G, and our table shows a wide range of advertised speeds.

Vodafone is part of VodafoneThree and runs on the Vodafone network. Full fibre means a fibre cable runs all the way into your home. 5G home broadband uses a mobile network instead of a cable, so there is no engineer visit or landline. Its speed depends on the signal where you live.

Availability depends on your address. Full fibre deals are offered by address, and 5G deals need you to be in Vodafone 5G coverage. Check your postcode on Vodafone's site before you pick a deal.

Advertised speeds are what Vodafone quotes. Your real speed depends on your address, your router and your Wi-Fi. Vodafone also includes 4G broadband back-up, which takes over if your main connection drops. Sort the table by speed, then check your postcode.

What it really costs

Our table shows Vodafone's real cost per month, with every stated price rise and fee built in.

Vodafone states its mid-contract price rises in pounds on its deal page. We add each one to the real cost, along with any setup or delivery fee. Real cost is everything you pay over the contract, minus any reward card cash, divided by the number of months. Our table covers 1-month, 12-month and 24-month contracts.

Vodafone also lists a rolling monthly plan with no long contract. Extras include a Power Hub router, 4G broadband back-up and an optional landline. Vodafone offers a social tariff for people on qualifying benefits.

Straight answers

Questions people ask

Is Vodafone broadband good value?
Vodafone broadband can be good value, depending on the package and contract you choose. Its price rises are stated in pounds on its deal page, and our table builds them into the real cost. Compare each deal's real cost with rivals, then check your postcode to see what you can get.
Does Vodafone raise prices mid-contract?
Yes, Vodafone states its mid-contract price rises in pounds on its deal page. Our table builds each stated rise into the real cost, so you can compare the true price. Since 17 January 2025, Ofcom rules say new contracts must show any rise in pounds and pence, and percentage or inflation-linked rises are banned.
How do I switch to Vodafone?
You only need to contact Vodafone, and it arranges the switch for you. Ofcom's One Touch Switch means Vodafone tells your old provider and handles the move. Order before 10pm for next day delivery, then set up your Power Hub router yourself, with no engineer needed. Check that your address can get Full Fibre first, because availability depends on where you live.
